Free Plan

Every new account starts with a 3-day free trial of all Premium features. After the trial, you can continue using the app for free with these limits:

5 tasks per day (a task is any edit, export, or print action)
Maximum 5 saved documents
Tasks 3–5 show a 30-second ad before completing
Premium-only features (background removal, PDF ↔ Word/Excel conversion, merge, compress) are locked

Premium unlocks everything: unlimited tasks, AI background removal, PDF conversion, merge, compress, batch processing, and zero ads.

Subscription Management

Your subscription is managed through Razorpay, a secure Indian payment gateway:

Payment links — Generated dynamically via server's Edge Function.
Subscription extension — Remaining days are preserved when renewing. E.g., if you have 20 days left and buy 1 month, you get 50 total days.
Breakdown view — The subscription dialog shows Trial, Paid subscription, and Referral reward periods separately with their expiry dates.
Webhook processing — Payments are processed server-side via a FastAPI webhook with HMAC signature verification.

Access your subscription by clicking the plan indicator in the bottom-right status bar, or via Help > Subscription.

Referral Rewards

You can earn free subscription time by referring others to EG-Docs Editor:

Every 5 referrals = 1 free month of Premium.
Your unique referral code is available in Help > Refer & Earn.
Share your code with others. When they enter it during sign-up, you get credit.
The system is cloud-enforced and cheat-proof.
Each device can only redeem one referral code, and each account can only redeem one code.

Find your code

Go to Help > Refer & Earn. Your 8-character referral code is displayed in large text. Click Copy to copy it to your clipboard.

Share it

Send your code to friends, colleagues, or customers. They enter it during sign-up on the account creation page.

Track your progress

The Refer & Earn dialog shows your current referral count, free months earned, and progress toward the next reward (e.g., “3/5 referrals to next free month”).

Device Binding

One account is bound to one device using a stable machine ID. This prevents account sharing. If you switch to a new machine, simply sign in — the previous device is released after 12 hours of inactivity.

Offline & Connectivity

Background license check — Every 15 minutes.
30-minute offline grace — The app works for 30 minutes without internet, then shows a “Connect to the internet” dialog with Retry/Exit options.
